Mr. Olawale Oluwo, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in Lagos state has resigned from the ruling All progressives Congress, APC.
Oluwo announced his resignation on Wednesday. In a letter addressed to the Lagos state APC chairman, Oluwo explained that he took the decision as a result of the series of events that occurred during the party’s state primaries in October.
He alleged that the exercise was characterised by voter disenfranchisement, undue influence, violence, and intimidation to members among other activities that violate the electoral law.
He also claimed that the party lacked integrity adding that the reputation of the state has been diminished as a reference point for free and fair democratic practice. He also vowed to work for Jimi Agbaje, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next governorship election.
