Badagry residents commend FG over improved electricity supply

Some residents of Badagry town in Lagos State on Wednesday commended the Federal Government over the significant improvement in power supply to the area in recent times.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that power supply situation in Badagry had improved significantly, over the last three weeks.

Mr Yusuf Adeniyi, a resident in the Ajara area of Badagry, commended the government on the development.

“The power supply situation in Badagry used to be really bad, but in the last three weeks, it has improved and this has helped me a lot in various ways.

“The amount I spend on fuelling my generators has significantly reduced and this has helped in reducing my daily expenditure profile.

“The government should endeavour and continue maintain the standard as this is a welcome development,’’ he said.

Mr Tunde Ojo, a resident of the Itoga area of Badagry said that power supply in the area had also improved.

“After work, I’m always looking forward to going home because of the improvement in power supply to my area.

“Usually after work, I would just hang around in town till night time, because there is usually no electricity in my area, but all that has changed because power supply has become steady to some extent.

“The authorities in charge of this should keep it up,” he said.

Mrs Sandra Okugbe, a resident at the Limca area of the town, pleaded with the government to strive to maintain the improvement.

“The government must be commended for this but at the same time, I hope that the government can maintain this situation, as it continues to resolve the challenges in the power sector.

“If this can be done, it would improve the lives of the people of the area,’’ she added.
