Malam Bashir Yankuzu, a lecturere at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, has advised the Federal Government to introduce measures to stop illegal importation of ammunition into Nigeria.

The lecturer said that the nation’s peaceful coexistence was being threatened by illegal arms importation.
He said government’s efforts to eradicate criminal activities would only be fruitful if illegal arms were stopped from entering the country.
The don advised the government to find out those responsible for arms supply to the youth.
“Federal Government should equip security personnel managing the nations border posts with modern facilities and prosecute those found involved in the illegal arms importation,” Yankuzu said.
He lauded the political commitment demonstrated by the government in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
The lecturer urged Nigerians to offer intelligence information to help in apprehending the remaining insurgents, for peace, progress and political stability of the country. (NAN)
