Sambo Dasuki and four others were re-arraigned in FCT High Court in Maitama on a 25-count amended charge. Dasuki who is the former National Security Adviser under former President Goodluck Jonathan was arraigned in November 2015.
Dasuki and the former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda; the former Director of Finance and Administration in the ONSA, Shuaibu Salisu; alongside the former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, his son, Sagir and their family company, Dalhatu Investment Limited. EFCC dragged them to court on a 22-count charge bordering on criminal infringement of trust and false diversion of public fund to the tune of N19.4 billion.
Mr Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), EFCC counsel had applied to the court for adjustment of the former charges of 22 to 25, he also notified the court that a former Director of Finance and Administration in the ONSA, Shuaibu Salisu be excluded. Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf who is the judge acknowledged Jacobs’s wishes. The new charges were read to them, they pleaded not guilty to the allegations against them.
Oajide Ayodele (SAN), the defence counsel for Yuguda, Kayode Olatoke (SAN) for Bafarawa and others wished the court to allow the defendants to enjoy their existing bail. Baba-Yusuf granted their wishes and adjourned until the 9th of July and it is scheduled for commencement of trial on the 10th of July.
