Entertainers in Abuja move to empower creative minds

The popular Delphino Entertainment company has announced that it will use its annual Picnic event to socialise, network and empower creative minds.

The Delphino Picnic, which has previously been centred around entertainment, says the upcoming event will be aimed at creating a space where individuals of all ages are ‘united under one platform’.

Executive Director of the company, Onoja Adole disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Abuja saying that the event has been happening since 2012 and has always united people of all age groups. He added that everyone from children to adults the age of 65, comes together at a designated location to re-connect and reunite. The executive director said the event further gives those in attendance an opportunity to spend time with family, friends, business partners, and colleagues among others.

According to Adole, it is also an avenue for people to come together to socialise, network and simply be happy.

He stressed that the event is open, allowing people to arrive with their picnic blankets and enjoy good music, and refreshments. The Picnic also includes games for children, and enables attendees to network.

He said: “Previously we have the light of Davido, Ice Prince, Adekunle Gold, Style Plus, Iyanya, Teckno. In every edition there is always a different form of entertainment,  we naturally do not do this because of the entertainment attached to it, but an avenue for people to come out and experience a nice environment outdoor and there is no restriction to any kind of fun you want to have”

“The door is open to anyone that wants to come because we are not creating a political environment, but we are hopeful to have politicians come because the last time we had about 5800 people. It will be a good avenue for any politician that wants to come and interact directly with the youths and hear what they actually feel about the situation of the Nation and the economy”

He added, “But the truth is that we have a lot of Senators and House of Rep members who come there quietly on their own to enjoy themselves. I just want to basically empower creative minds because a creative economy is that one that has been looked down upon, if you have about 5800 people gathered under one platform that is the biggest direct marketing platform you can have anywhere”. he added.
