The Federal Government on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the production of Grand Book, a compendium of Nigeria’s history, culture and tradition.
The MoU was signed by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Chairman of Leadership Folio Ltd, Mr Fidelis Anosike.
Speaking at the event, the minister said the book contains very rare pictures of personalities, places and events that captured the pre and post independent Nigeria.
“Every page is a delight with history and there can be no better gift by Nigeria to the outside world.
“The ministry will strive to make the book as its official gift and persuade the Presidency to also do same,’’ he said.
Also speaking, Anosike said the project was conceived about five years ago, and the driving force was the need for Nigeria to tell its true history to the outside world.
“We did our research and discovered that there is no consolidated compendium about Nigeria.
