Heavy rains forces Chile residents to evacuate

Heavy rains have continued to wreak havoc in regions of Chile and Peru this week, causing rivers to overflow and forcing residents from their flooded homes.

In Chile’s Atacama Region, areas such as Iquique, were hit hard after rushing floodwaters swept through residential areas.

Destruction to roads caused delay of delivery of goods such as dairy products.

Chile’s President, Sebastian Pinera said the damage was valued at some $90 million dollars.
