World Cup 2018 Update: Fernando Hierro to coach Spain

Federation sporting director, Fernando Hierro will reportedly be coaching Spain at the World Cup in place of Julen Lopetegui who was recently sacked.

Hierro, who won 89 caps for Spain between 1989 and 2002, will hold a news conference at 6:30 p.m. local time in Krasnodar, Russia.

The former Real Madrid defender will then take charge of his first training session ahead of Spain’s World Cup opener against Portugal on Friday.

Reports suggest Michel and Luis Enrique are leading candidates to replace Julen Lopetegui coach after the World Cup.
