The Kebbi State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammad Aliero, has warned teachers
against absenteeism and indolence.
Aliero gave the warning while re-opening Government Day Secondary School, Tiggi, in Augie Local Government Area
that had been shut due to the lukewarm attitude of the teachers.
He expressed concern that during his visit to the school six months ago, only 36 of the over 400 students were in attendance while
teachers were absent.
He warned the teachers against laxity and urged them to be dedicated to their responsibilities for the development of the state.
In his remarks, the local government Chairman, ,Alhaji Adamu Augie, advised the school management, parents and teachers to always
monitor the students for effective teaching and learning.
Also speaking, the traditional ruler and Sarkin Sudan of Tiggi, Alhaji Musa Yusuf, commended the commissioner for re-opening the
school and called for monitoring of the teachers and students.
He promised to assist the school management to ensure proper conduct of academic and administrative activities.
The Principal of the school, Hajiya Hafsat Tuni, thanked the ministry and stakeholders who contributed to the reopening of the
school and promised that members of management would dedicate themselves to their duties. (NAN)
