An unidentified middle-aged man has on Tuesday, August 30, died in an auto crash in Imiringi axis along the Yenagoa-Ogbia road in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.
Vanguard gathered that the deceased, who happens to be the only occupant of the red Toyota Camry salon car, with plates number FKJ 821 DJ, was driving on a very high speed before the car skidded off the road into a swamp along the road, killing the man instantly.
“The man drowns on board a Toyota Camry car on Ogbia road due to over speeding“, an eyewitness who refused to be mentioned said.
Some soldiers attached to the Kolo-Creek flow station, were said to have mobilised the residents in the area to hire a pay loader with which the car and the corpse were retrieved, few minutes after the man drowned.
In a related development, a fleeing armed robbery suspect, whose name was not given over the weekend, met his Waterloo as he was hit by an oncoming vehicle around Ijanikin area of Lagos. The suspect was reportedly running away from police officers who were on hot at his heels.
The suspected robber was reported to have died instantly. One of his alleged co-conspirators, Bassey Eyo, 22, was nabbed by police officers attached to Ijanikin police division.
